You can add, view, edit or remove notes at any location in a Kindle book or personal document. Add a note: Press and hold a word or press and drag to highlight the desired text. If you selected a word, tap More, tap Add Note, and then type your desired text.

Recent Sony readers do this. I have a PRS-950, and between it's touch UI and awesome PDF support, highlighting in a variety of media including PDF is as easy as it can be. It beats Kindle hands-down on this particular feature. See more here: htt
I have Kindle Paperwhite, Firmware 5.3.4, and I am able to higlight text in pdfs or add notes to higlighted text. I can also browse my marks and notes there. To do so, you just tap and hold or tap and swipe the text you want to higlight / make comment on. In context menu you can choose Add Note or Highlight option.
26 Nov 2012 It happened when Google Reader stopped allowing 'sharing' and letting you have an RSS feed or your shared items. Delicious fixed that. This happened a few weeks ago when I finished reading a PDF book on my Kindle and I couldn't export the highlights like I normally do with all my amazon downloaded

I'm frustrated that neither iBooks for iPad or Kindle Reader for iPad allow the highlighting or annotation of text in PDF files. Is there a way to convert a PDF to an ebook format that I could highlight and annotate from within iBooks? If so, what is the best format to convert to? iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.3. Posted on Jan
16 Jun 2014 Open the Kindle/app. A few minutes after sending the email you will see the PDF in the Kindle library (see above). It should be perfectly captured and viewed just like any Kindle book. You can use bookmarks as in other books but you cannot highlight passages.
