Dsg vs manual. 09-12-2016 11:14 AM #1. Hey guys I have been lurking on this forum for a little bit, I currently have a 2015 gli w/ a manual and am looking at trading it in for a mk7 autobahn but . I guess what I'm really asking is if the dsg in a GTI acts or performs any different than the dsg in the Jetta TDI I had before my gli.

I know that VW says that I had thought that driving a manual would have resulted in many more miles per gallon than the DSG option. If indeed that is not true, . Combined EPA number for both is 36, but the highway number for the 6MT is 45 vs. the DSG's 43. Not much difference, but I wanted a manual, badly, but at the time they were unavailable (right when the new tdi jetta came back after hiatus) and grudgingly took the DSG. I'm so glad I did in the long run.
