Edit: Since guessing from your comments you are not that acquainted with linux I will explain the procedure in more detail: The fstab-method is cleaner and more basic than gui-tools or gigolo. It will also work on other systems even those that are text-mode only. In principle you don't need to install anything.

8 May 2006 Here's a simple one. First off, I may say that if you're a REAL retro-gamer, you cannot beat Dosbox! All those classic MS DOS games are at your fingertips in this excellent "emulator". Use this guide to help you install a new hard drive with an existing Ubuntu system, and partition it for use. Before beginning, you need to consider for what you will be using
Choose the device you want to auto-mount on start-up by just clicking it and you will see the folders in the right pane shown for that device (partition), keep this window open. Go to your desktop Ubuntu search and type disks, you'll see disks shown in results. Click on disks sudo apt-get install usbmount.
My ubuntu 8.10 was installed from winXP, and it doesn't automatically mount ntfs drive,so I mount manually when a ntfs drive with something I need. Someone may have the same problem, and I will show you how to deal with it. 1.Open a terminal window and type. Code: sudo fdisk -l. you need to remember location of the
disk drives and media. When you run it, you will see a list of your drives, including USB drives. If you click a drive on the list, you can view its details, and you can click the triangle-shaped button (Play button) to mount the drive. (This method works even when the drive does not auto-mount.)
