2 Jan 2014 I was thinking if I put a manual transfer case in with a shifter and then wire the front axle actuator to a switch, it seems like it might work. I know I would have "SERVICE 4WD" on all the time since the BCM wouldn't have any communication, but that message is on all the time now anyway! Any thoughts?

8 Jul 2008 Hi i have a 1998 Chevy k1500 single cab with a 6inch suspension lift and a 2inch body lift. It has 37x12.50 BF Goodrich MTz. It is push button 4x4 (which is crap and unreliable and has the NP231 transfer case in it) My tranny recently blew so im gonna rebuild that and i wanna throw in the NP241 Manual

My understanding is either option of the dash mounted switch or manual floor lever passes through an electric actuator. i'v had the four wheel drive go out on "manual" engage chevy's and push button trucks. once on the lever because the wiring harness came unplugged from the transfer case. best advice

What would you need to convert from floor shifter to push button 4x4. I'm guessing you'd need the button and wiring harness, and the electronic transfer case. Anything else?
