For as long as I've had Steam, the highest download speeds I've gotten for Steam Check the steam settings for downloads, there's lots of options there including what region you connect to, this decides . At least in the US anyway. In Steam it even said "Seattle-Comcast" for server download options.
Since I'm in Fairbanks, Alaska, that's probably the closest US server. There's also a Seattle Comcast server. Is that only for Comcast people?
