Manual Muscle Testing for Triceps [Video File]. Triceps Brachii Action: Supine with arm in 90 degrees shoulder flexion, and full elbow flexion, and full forearm supination, extend elbow. Stabilize over anterior aspect of ipsilateral shoulder. Have patient flex elbow slightly then apply resistance just proximal to wrist in direction
MMT Seated, forearm in neutral, supported, neutral wrist, thumb slightly flexed. Stabilize proximal phalanx. Instruct to extend. Resist towards IP flexion. Flexor Carpi Radialis O – medial epicondyle of the humerus via the common forearm flexor tendon; antebrachial fascia. I – base of the 2nd and 3rd metacarpals. N - median
wrist extension and ulnar deviation. ECU. wrist extension and radial deviation. ECRL ECRB. MMT: wrist flexion (against gravity). FCR, FCU patient position: UE on table, forearm supination, wrist neutral stabilization hand: under the distal forearm test: FCR and FCU: wrist flexion through full ROM FCR: wrist flexion with radial
10 Sep 2015 Origin: Common flexor tendon from medial epicondyle of humerus & deep antebrachial fascia; Insertion: Flexor retinaculum & palmar aponeurosis; Action: Tenses the palmar fascia, flexes the wrist & may assist elbow flexion; Nerve: Median, C6–8 & T1; Patient: Sitting or supine; Fixation: Provided by table
The test arm should slightly hang off the edge of the table. The therapist stabilizes the forearm against the table with one hand and uses other hand to apply downward resistance toward wrist abduction. The patient actively adducts the wrist. Wrist Flexion, The patient sits with forearm in supination and wrist in neutral.
forearm pronation muscles. pronator teres (median), pronator quadratus (median). forearm pronation A/G. sitting, 0/90, palm up-->palm down. forearm pronation G/E. sitting, elbow resting on table, 90/90, palm in air, supinate-->pronate. wrist flexion and radial deviation muscles. flexor carpi radialis (median). wrist flexion and
