Note that the figure shows the D3200 with its so-called kit lens — the 18-55mm AF-S Vibration Reduction (VR) zoom lens that Nikon sells as a unit with the camera body. If you buy a different lens, your lens mounting index may be some other color or shape, so check the lens instruction manual. Keeping the dots aligned,
5 Jun 2013 This subject has been discussed many times, and most people believe that you can't meter Nikon D3200 D5200 with old non CPU lenses, but it is possible. First for focusing you can get the Go to Manu, then movie settings, then manual movie settings, and switch it to (ON). Now the only way that those

On the Nikon D3200 you can swap out the viewfinder's exposure meter with a rangefinder, which uses a similar, meter-like display, as shown in the following figure You can use the rangefinder in any exposure mode except M (manual exposure). Your lens must offer a maximum aperture (f-stop number) of f/5.6 or lower.
30 May 2012 mfreeman. "I read somewhere that the AIS lenses do work with the D3200 on manual mode but do not have any metering. Is it true?"?. Yes. Direct from Nikon 00aRn1-470625584.jpg. mfreeman, May 30, 2012.
Higher end cameras, like the Nikon D800 are able to measure the exposure and so work at least in aperture priority mode, setting the shutter speed automatically, addtional to the manual mode. Entry level cameras like the D3200 can't do that with non-CPU lenses and have to be operated fully manual,
Non-CPU lenses may only be used when the camera is in mode M. Selecting another mode disables the shutter release. Aperture must be adjusted manually via the lens aperture ring and the camera metering system, i-TTL flash control, and other features requiring a CPU lens cannot be used. Some non-CPU lenses
29 Oct 2013 I've been using older manual focus lenses on my new Nikon camera a while, and I've come to learn a trick or two that makes life a bit easier. 1. However, if it's not an auto-focus lens or if both your camera and lens lacks an auto-focus motor (which would be the case with say a D3200 and any AF-D lens)
I was given an old Nikon EM (like new) with a couple of lenses. The question is can I use these lenses with my D3200? If so, how? The Lenses are: A) Sigma 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 Aspherical Macro HF 35mm Zoom B) Nikon Nikkor 105mm f/1.8 Manual Prime Lens C) Nikkor Series E 70-210mm
22 Apr 2014 Re: Manual lenses on the D3200. Nikon | Imaging Products | Lens Compatibility - Nikon D3200 The 3200 will not meter at all with any non CPU lenses. You will need to use an electronic rangefinder etc to meter with those lenses. Meaning full manual control only. Thanks/Like eidian Thanks/liked this post.
