He took a deep breath. The cold and crisp air dried his mouth even more. Coughing out mist he pulled his unoccupied hand against his nose and then wiped his hand against his pants. Today he would manage to catch him. He would. He needed to.
Sneezing he wiped his nose again, but this time he forgot that his right hand was supposed to be occupied and his camera slipped out of his lap. It almost hit the roof, but only almost. He managed to catch it before it slid away from him.
With a deep sigh that ended in a sniffle Doug stared down at the cobblestoned street far below. Very far below. If he hadn’t managed to catch his camera it wouldn’t have been much left off it.
A sound startled Doug and he kept his gaze at the street. Could that be him? Could that be Panda? The dim gas street lights suddenly lit up a random horse cart that went down the street. It disappeared into the midnight fog almost as quickly as it had appeared. Leaving Doug with only his camera and the silence as company again.
Shaking Dough pulled the camera up against his chest and sneezed. He was so cold, but he couldn’t leave. Not until he had caught Panda. Caught him on a photo. He would wait the entire night if he had to.
Because he was sure that Panda would be here sooner or later. The first time he had happened upon him on accident. Doug had planned a date with the street down below. He was supposed to have jumped off the roof.
The next time he had just been sitting here and now, the third time. He was going to take a photo. As proof that the legend was real.
