AAAAAAGH! THE MEMORIES! I'm having World 8 flashbacks. When I close my eyes I see the moles, the wrenches! I feel the lack of friction and I taste tears... Oh hi guys I didn't notice you there! What's this all about you ask? Well gather around children and let me tell you a story about bravery, sadness, ridicule, death and victory! Let me tell you about the time I and Edvin beat Super Mario Bros. 3
Our story begins sometimes last year. Two foolhardy men, let us call them Hilding and Edvin, decided to play some Super Mario Bros. 3 because why not? Oh if only we had known, if only... The first thing that happens? HYBRIS, and lots of it. This would prove to be our undoing several times but we persevered, like men are wont to do when faced with hardship.
The few first worlds went relatively easy, with a few mishaps along the road but nothing severe. When we encountered the wretched Boss Bass things started to go awry, we started cracking (Crying was already a common sight, just ask Annie, occassional supporter and ridiculer extraordinaire) and we resorted to warping (I'm not sure if we warped at this point but we did warp at some point, of that I'm sure). We finished the second to last world valiantly (i.e. Less tears, probably same amount of name calling *cough* Edvin *cough*) but THEN! The final world, World 8, Bowsers domain, HELL.
We were immediately met with ludicrous torment, airships and tanks abundant. Our cups runneth over with this bullshit we said, but we didn't quit, we couldn't yield victory to the game, not when we had fought for so long.
Then one day, not too long ago, last week actually, something incredible happened. We started to suck less, so much so that we cleared diabolical stage after diabolical stage. Sure, we broke down at one point but that is not important. We had a system going, checkpoints were given and we reached the final castle. It was up to me, I jumped past lasers, avoided fireballs and made gravity my bitch and then there he was... Bowser. A battle of biblical proportions took place, we did battle in his castle, on my tv-screen and in our minds aswell! I channeled my own inner autistic kid looking for California and as it was written lo did the mighty beast fall. A winner was us.

Indeed! If only you had been there. I even got some acknowledgement from Edvin during one weak moment, I will treasure it forever. Everytime he says something mean I'll just smile and say "I know you don't really mean that"
