wont do anything a regular auto will. switch it into manual mode and its just as engagin as you control the gears except none of the rev matching crap. plus 2 hands on the wheel at all times ;-) id be intrigued to watch 2 cars of the same power around a track with manual vs dsg as im certain dsg would win.

26 Jun 2009 I recently had the privelage to test drive the new Golf 6 GTI and was very impressed with the car..it is fabulous! However, something that I've been wondering about..is the choice between the manual gearbox, or DSG. I took a Golf 5 GTI DSG for a spin and wasn't really impressed. The DSG gearbox is fast

Hi everyone. I am new to forums. Looking in to get a 2015 GTI, but I am not sure if I should go with DSG or Manual. Everyone says DSG is very good, but I guess I will have to test drive GTI with DSG and see how I like it. I thought I would still ask everyone if DSG is a way to go or a manual transmission.
25 Feb 2015 Although VW's DSG dual-clutch automated manual is a good, reasonably sporty automatic, it is still an automatic. With it, our long-term GTI just feels like a slightly faster Golf with a significantly worse ride. At least in "normal" driving. Plus, it is just about the easiest manual transmission to drive on the planet.
