The captivating crime-fighting trio who are the masters of disguise, espionage and martial arts. When a devious mastermind embroils them in a plot to destroy individual privacy the Angels, aided by their loyal sidekick Bosley, set out to bring down the bad guys. But when a terrible secret is revealed it makes the Angels targets for assassination.
The Angels Natalie, Dylan, and Alex are sent to place a bug in the voice-recognition system that bitter rival Roger Corwin has stolen. The Angels & Bosley must save Charlie's life. See them kick the sh*t out of people with high-tech martial arts!
The main problem with this movie, besides the banal dialogue("Flip...your goddamn...hair."), is that everybody seems to be doing their own thing. Cameron Diaz is basically doing a best-of package(i.e. shaking her non-existant ass, which is a shame, since she's underrrated as an actress), Drew Barrymore is trying once again to be a "punk girl", and Lucy Liu is being Lucy Liu, as well as Bill Murray channeling his Ghostbusters character.
HOWEVER, I am coming to Tom Green's defense here. I hate him. He is one of the worst comedians on the face of the planet. However, Chad was probably the only funny part of this film. I did like Natalie's nightclub scene at the very beginning, though.
Where should I start? Charlie's Angels uses its best assets, the lovely ladies playing them. I must admit, at the beginning, I heard of all the bad buzz, cheesiness, infighting, blatant coping of Matrix-kung-fu. I really didn't know what to think. But let me tell you one thing, Charlie's Angels has one aim only: to be a crowdpleaser. Charlie is going to rule theaters this autumn, and should be around much longer than "Meet the Parents". The action left me breathless, and those actresses, they pleased the eyes so much they had me begging. Bill Murray was good in his scenes, Cameron D., Lucy Liu, and Drew did a great job. They enjoyed making this film and it shows. The camaraderie isn't forced, and each angel is given their time to shine. I saw maybe one and a half episodes of Charlie's Angels, but I'd see this movie again and again. Hardly no blood (good for the kids), but lots of babes and lots of skin (you decide whether it's good for the kids; at the right age, it may even be helpful), and lots of butt-kicking. Go see it, rent it, see it again. You'll love the action. Tim Curry makes a good villain, Crispin Glover has a mean streak he's been hiding, and the movie has a twist that you won't believe!!! Well, I said my peace. See ya!
