Soft, tender and warm dinner rolls are perennial favorites at the holiday table. . This time I tried using the stand mixer to mix and they came out too dense.
This recipe was inspired by one in a small handwritten Amish cookbook; thus its name. And my, oh my, are these rolls good! Dense yet still tender, moist but not.
I have used this recipe for over 30+ years. I first saw it in a cookbook put together by factory workers. I received this cookbook as a gift and have since made it my.
3 Nov 2016 . Instructions. Melt butter completely. Once yeast is foamy (proofed) and butter/milk is cool, pour butter/milk mixture into the bowl of your standing mixer. Add egg and mix until combined. Add 3 cups of flour and TBS salt and knead with dough hook. Grease a large bowl and transfer dough to the bowl.
