The major theme in EVA is that because we are individuals, we cannot completely understand each other. That is the cause of all the world's problems, large and small. Even the Angels, Adam, Lilith, and the Evangelions are actually human. They are our distant ancestors, and possibilities of what we may have evolved into. The visuals in EVA are superb, form the designs of the EVAs and Angels, to the character designs, camera angles, and unique visuals (the close-up of EVA-01's head with it's teeth showing as it roared out in pure primal rage was awe-inspiring. The End of the series is hard to understand. Basically, because we are individuals, we are flawed. By using Adam, Lilith and the EVAs, humanity plans to "evolve" into one being, so that we may truly understand and accept ourselves as a whole. What is happening in episodes 25 and 26 is that as we all become one being, all minds are put together, and everyone can see that which others had wished to hide deep in their minds forever. EVA is a masterpiece, and I think one quote that I came up with a while ago sums it up: Evangelion makes Shakespeare look like a first-grader's creative writing assignment. I really enjoyed Neon Genesis Evangelion. It is a must see for anyone age 13 and Up. It's a fun to watch anime until the last two episodes. The last two episodes are what makes this series so controversial. These last two episodes are just plain wierd. I don't know what else to say. These episodes are pretty much the main character talking to himself. BUT YOU MUST WATCH THIS SHOW.
