Toward the end of the 19th century, Prof. Quatermain (Sean Connery) is recruited to lead a band of superheroes - each drawn from popular literature of the day, each blessed with distinctive powers - to defeat a monstrous villain who is plotting to take over the world.
Based on the celebrated graphic novel by Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill, Stephen Norrington's high-concept melodrama combines the Gothic splendor of Victorian 'penny dreadfuls' with the excesses of modern Hollywood, resulting in a curious hybrid of 'Boy's Own' adventure story and turbo-charged blockbuster (set-pieces include a spectacular recreation of Captain Nemo's 'Nautilus', the sinking of Venice, and several destructive rampages by the hulking Mr. Hyde!), though James Dale Robinson's clever script never seems forced or arbitrary. Connery coasts through proceedings on the strength of his established screen persona, while scene-stealer Stuart Townsend (QUEEN OF THE DAMNED) camps it up as a dandified Dorian Gray whose skirmishes with vampire/ex-girlfriend Mina Harker (Peta Wilson, TV's "La Femme Nikita") are charged with sexual tension - these characters surely deserve a movie of their own! Sadly, the film is undermined by a mediocre villain, whose lack of visual presence leaves a significant hole in the narrative. However, despite this minor drawback and some well-documented production troubles (Connery and Norrington were at loggerheads throughout), the finished article is much better than its modest box-office performance would otherwise suggest."The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" wasn't a really bad movie, but it wasn't the best of movies either. I'm not really into this genre of movies but I found it quite entertaining. I liked all the characters. I think my favorite was Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde. He was creepy. I liked how this movie wasn't meant to be scary but the first time you watch it there are moments that will make you jump. Such as the moment where we first find out that Peta Wilson's character is a vampire. The special effects were great and I didn't think the use of CGI was overused. Sean Connery was mediocre. I really don't have an opinion about him but his acting was okay. But there were moments where his accent was so thick that you couldn't understand what he was saying. But his character was likeable. I don't have much more to say about this film except that it was a fun viewing experience and I loved all the effects and characters. And it's definitely not the worst movie ever made. I've seen worse. And at least this movie wasn't boring! Anyways. Thanks for reading my review! The murkiest-looking movie since Ben Affleck's “Daredevil” and about as lacking in charm. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is a comic book series written by British writer Alan Moore, illustrated by Kevin O'Neill, and launched in 1999 as part of the America's Best Comics imprint of Wildstorm Comics. British screenwriter James Dale Robinson adapted the comics for the screen. They are all characters from fictional novels and include:
Allan Quatermain [Sean Connery], an English big game hunter introduced in the King Solomon's Mines novels of British author H. Rider Haggard.
Captain Nemo [Naseeruddin Shah], a scientific genius who roams the depths of the sea in his submarine, the Nautilus, in two of French author Jules Verne's novels Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea (1870) and The Mysterious Island (1874).
Mina Harker [Peta Wilson], the wife of Jonathan Harker, a solicitor who traveled to Transylvania to sell London properties to Count Dracula and later lived to regret it in the novel Dracula (1897) by Irish author Bram Stoker.
Dorian Gray [Stuart Townsend], a character created by Irish author Oscar Wilde in The Picture of Dorian Gray (1891). Dorian's picture grows older but Dorian does not.
Rodney Skinner, The Invisible Man [Tony Curran], a thief who apparently stole the invisibility formula from the invisible man of English author H.G. Wells' 1897 novel of the same name (still under copyright).
Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde [Jason Flemyng], from Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde (1886), a novella written by the Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson.
Special agent Tom Sawyer [Shane West] of the American Secret Service. From the novel The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain although, in that novel, he is only a young boy No. Skinner mentions that he stole the formula from a scientist, most likely referring to the original Invisible Man. The reason for the change is because another company owned the rights to that character, whose original name is Hawley Griffin. No. Dorian Gray is killed by Mina Harker. Quatermain is stabbed in the back by Professor Moritarity. However, the movie ends with a witch doctor casting a spell over Quatermain's grave.No. In May 2015 it was announced the film is to get a reboot.Yes. Connery retired from show business after The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, however he continued to do some voice acting, playing the title character in the animated short Sir Billi (2012) (2012). He calls himself the Fantom, but he turns out to be Professor James Moriarty. a5c7b9f00b https://pastebin.com/w1QQEHLe http://dersplanla.net/m/feedback/view/Angels-Dance-Movie-Download http://adrenalineprovinggrounds.ning.com/profiles/blogs/szinglik-jszak-ja-full-movie-download-in-hindi http://realmember.org/m/feedback/view/MagnaCarta-2-In-Hindi-Download-Free-In-Torrent http://writeskills.ning.com/profiles/blogs/the-denied-telugu-full-movie-download http://thoughdiscrocon.guildwork.com/forum/threads/5ba0ad6a002aa82e15ab39cc-justice-league-full-movie-hd-1080p-download https://www.causes.com/posts/4933175 http://maupresacglyn.guildwork.com/forum/threads/5ba0ad6c002aa82e1a2bbfd7-tamil-movie-dubbed-in-hindi-free-download-a-pretty-woman-has-venom http://www.naminukai.org/en/news/view/id/266065 http://clickngotravel.com/m/feedback/view/Bad-Country-Malayalam-Full-Movie-Free-Download
