this movie is a rip off of the lord of the rings story line just made worse. the 3D animation is like n64 graphics put right in a movie! how much did this movie gross 5 bucks! the only thing that was good was the 2D animation but other than that its a sad sad movie. Just don't give this movie a chance its dumb and you know it.its so much better to just watch lord of the rings.thank God this movie doesn't have sequels.or does it.anyway they could have put more effort into a better movie. bottom line pick another film to watch! little kids might like it but I cant see older viewers enjoying it at all.well there are always going to be bad movies out there just avoid them when possible.
Well what can I say. The title presents us with an adaptation of the first of the "chronicals" trilogy. Stylised animation based on the comics, gives a simplistic and childish result for this artwork. There are actually pieces of rendered animation mixed in with the normal cell shading, which provides a little excitement in places. Overall the quality of the drawing is well done, however some of the action scenes appear hastely drawn. The Soundtrack is above average, and adds depth to the visual elements but you wont remember much after the credits roll. A big surprise is in the cast of voices which includes som very well known actors. This is pleasing and you can atleats appreciate well articulated dialogue. I love the dragonlance novels, and they line the shelves of my walls, so I am biased. I will say however if you do love the novels, and find the original D&D animated cartoons fun to watch with your kids, then you will enjoy this as a family experience, and hopefully will provide your offspring with a desire to read the novels!
