Earlier this week I spoke of my dad's creepy age-thing.. Today it was me. Not in the same, though. I made dinner! I repeat: I! MADE! DINNER!
My parents left for Portugual for 9 days at 5 am this morning. They left me with two whole chicken and a lot of canned food. I have never made anything more advanced than porridge and those kinds of soup that comes in powder form. Today I decided to move up one level: I was going to make chicken with rice o_O
Many might think: 'Whoa <o< That's big.', but to me, it was kind of scary. For a bunch of reasons, I am terrified of heat. I move my fingers away from anything warm, even before I notice that it burns. And oven proof dishes are effing damned hot when they have been in the oven for 20 minutes. But I went through it! And what's more, I went through it three times today XD
Yeah; First time I just did a test round to see how I was going to time things. That was my dinner. For the first round I cooked a two-parted whole chicken and rice for two. And of course, I only ate one of the portions. My brother wasn't hungry, so I put the other part in the refridgeator.
Second time happened in the evening (9 or so). I was going to warm up the second portion, and since it's common knowledge that micro-warmed chicken sucks, I decided to try oven-heating it. Of course this went well, but then, 5 minutes before it was done, my brother poked his head in, saying he was hungry. I decided to be nice and made him the other chicken that wasn't prepared yet. When the chicken was done, I also prepared his chicken. (Note: I burned my fingers four times taking the form in and out; it WAS friggin hot ;_________; )
Now! What do I make tomorrow? Caramelized cabbage on creamy polenta?! ~feeling pro~
