Ok so first you will need. Project Red or Redpower2; Railcraft. Both links to those mods will be below (they are the links I used so you should have no hacking problems). Next you want to make the platform. IT MUST BE ATLEAST 7x3 AS A MINIMUM. Here is a picture of mine to explain this further.
