Four years after the events of Day 8, Jack Bauer remains a federal fugitive. Meanwhile, amid growing concerns over the use of US military drones in combat, President James Heller pays a visit to London to negotiate a treaty to continue their basing on British soil. Having heard rumors of an imminent attack against Heller, Bauer resurfaces in the city, where he is apprehended by the CIA and forcibly recruited into joining their investigation. As forces within the White House conspire against him, Bauer realizes that the complexity of the plot extends beyond a presidential assassination, and that the consequences of a successful attack will alter the course of history. With the help of a disgraced CIA agent and a hacker collective preaching free information, he must confront an unseen enemy whose personal vendetta threatens to push the world to the brink of war.
Jack Bauer comes out of hiding in London to head off a massive terrorist attack while being hunted down by American forces dispatched by President James Heller.
I have watched all the previous series of 24 and for the most I could tolerate the poor acting and the fact Jack always seems to just escape death, but the latest series has really annoyed me in the way the British are portrayed.
The Prime Minister is made to look like a bumbling idiot The President seems to be in charge even in our own country and my god its such poor acting Jack seems to run around shooting and bursting into places without the police even getting involved.
I am proud that the show chose London as a venue for the series, but the show is making a mockery of the English and our police force and security.
Lets say if you are patriotic then don't watch this

After having waited for for the premiere of 24 since it was announced to have Season 9, finally I got to see them and of course I had to tell my other friends about it. The above was the feedback I got from one of my friends who just finished Episode 1.
I think there might be few others who might have thought similarly so I'd like to share my review of the first two episodes.
The first two episodes did bring out a different beginning of the story. After the finale, we might wonder why 24/ Jack Bauer is coming back again when he was given a way to escape from all the frustration and depression he'd been under.
Simply it's because 24 needs a BETTER closure. Jack has some unfinished business personally indeed if you followed it from Season 1 to Season 2.
The return of 24 is not JUST about how creative it could be to Fans/Followers. Jack Bauer has become a sorta Character who is beyond an imagery one. Instead, because of the length of the entire series, the FANS who go through his dramatic life need a much better closure of Jack Bauer because the tragic and heartbreaking ending of S8 just could not END a legendary character.
So for fans of 24 still or those who used to be fans of 24, stay tuned for more development of the story!
Mostly, no. There were rumors that the real-time format of the series had been abandoned, in favor of a 12-hour format that would be a condensed version of a 24-hour day. However, the bulk of the series is still in real-time, with every 1-hour episode depicting an hour within the series.
It is only in the final episode, 10 minutes before the end, that there is a flash-forward of 12 hours. As a result, the series starts at 11:00 AM, and ends at 11:00 AM the next day. It still encompasses 24 hours, but skips one block of 12 hours within it. Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer

Producer/Writer David Fury has tweeted about talking and having dinner with Carlos Bernard (Tony Almeida), possibly hinting of his return too, although it is unknown if it will happen yet.
