The 1/1 scale statue of the Gundam RX-78-2 being built in Odaiba as part of Mobile Suit Gundam’s 30th anniversary celebrations now appears to be complete in all but name, as this extensive photo of the famed mecha shows in glorious detail.
Via punynari, an otaku-sailor who posted these photos on his site, Moe Passion.
The Gundam is planned to be unveiled on July 11, and be shown until August 31st.
What exactly will happen then is unknown, although we can hope dearly that the statue will not be dismantled and can join the bronze Gundam statue as yet another must-see otaku icon.
