Red River Dave and his Texas Tophands save a friend's ranch by staging a rodeo-benefit. But the proceeds from the rodeo are stolen and Dave his cowhands track down the robbers and return the money. Dave, with the music supplied by the Texas Tophands band, sings "Red River Valley", "Echo Ranch" and "I'm a Rovin' Cowboy."

This film is well done and a good example of a "western short" from the late 1940's. The music of Red River Dave and the Texas Tophands is an excellent example of Texas "hillbilly" music and Texas swing. I wish I had a copy of this film!
