Book descriptionI had a very hard time reading this piece of propaganda. The title is so misleading. This book should be called anything but “Zulfi my friend”. It is an insult to friendship.In the Acknowledgements section the author makes it clear that he was “asked” to write this book. It almost feels that he was not interested in writing at all (as if he has done a favor to Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and to the rest of the Nation).In the preface, objectivity is pledged but a disclaimer in the second line renders it useless “As a friend I find it difficult to attain the first [objectivity] though I shall try” . There is absolutely no hint of objectivity in the entire book. It spits venom against Shaheed Bhutto and Pakistan in general. Every page is laced with hatred and continuously attempts to disgrace our leader. The author blabbers too much about himself perhaps he should have written a book about his own life. On Shaheed Bhutto’s father: “Zulfi’s father was an eccentric and colourful character and there were several anecdotes that were floating around Bombay society about his aberrations” . Then he goes on to talk about how his own father is full of virtues and amazing!Some more unnecessary history of India and the author’s own political views – which happen to contribute 0% to understanding Shaheed Bhutto. Some more Anti-Pakistan rants.Some more baseless corruption charges against Shaheed Bhutto.Some more derogatory remarks against Shaheed Bhutto.And the End.I have never read a book in my life that I have hated so much.
