A group of Irish noblemen kidnap girls in order to marry into their fortune and avoid becoming priests or soldiers.
Set in 18th century Ireland, the 'Abduction Club' is an infamous gang of men who woo, abduct, and marry wealthy heiresses. Garrett Byrne and James Strang are both younger sons and therefore unable to inherit titles or estates. To improve their situation they set their sights on the Kennedy sisters, but are unprepared both for the young women's reaction and the trouble that follows them...
Abduction Club is a well-made film and it is entertaining until the last minute. Predictable? Yes. Corny? Maybe so. But it is funny in a witty way and is romantic in a nice, acceptable way. The characters are likeable, the cinematography is in its place, and everything else is. So what's wrong with this picture? Nothing I say, accomplished what it was aimed for.
this is 1 of the best films i have ever seen it is corn but corny is good and it is always a good thing if the lead actors are gorgeous.my favourite bit is when strang(rhys)and byrne are argueing before abducting katherine kennedy and the butler opens the door on them.
