19 Mar 2018 . This Old Fashioned Easter Egg Candy is a generations-old family recipe. We make it every year for Easter and it never lasts long. Don't be.

Method: Place gelatine in a small bowl with 1 tbsp water. Place sugar, glucose and water in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Boil to 112C. Add dissolved gelatine to this mixture and fold through till well mixed. Place 1kg of sifted icing sugar into a bowl. Make a well in the centre and pour warm mixture into icing .

Homemade Candy Easter Eggs. 8 cups powdered sugar, sifted. 1 cup butter or margarine, softened. 1 tablespoon maraschino cherry juice. 1 cup black walnuts, finely chopped. 1 (3-ounce) can flaked coconut. 1 (6-ounce) bottle maraschino cherries, drained and finely chopped. 1 tablespoon vanilla extract. 3 (8-ounce) bars .

Vanilla Nut Easter Eggs candy is a soft walnut nougat center covered with creamy milk chocolate.

Directions. In a bowl, cream butter. Beat in mashed potatoes. Gradually add the confectioners' sugar, beating until smooth. Add coconut and vanilla; mix well. In a microwave, melt candy coating. Dip ovals in coating; allow excess to drip off. Decorate with sprinkles. Place on waxed paper; let stand until set.
