I had the same "yikes" moment trying to break down my SR9c for the first time. Out of the 6 times or so since then its happened maybe once. I am also eagerly awaiting Eric's guide rod. Dont know if that'll cure the problem but I want one anyway!! No malfunctions in use though. rph802 is offline
22 Jun 2015 Fairly new gun, haven't had any problems with it, prob only 200-250 rounds through it. Have the SR40 as well, but am slowly moving to a 9mm platform. I now CC the SR9c, instead of a Shield in .40. I don't really care about the cosmetics as much, however, i do like the look of the steel rod better, that aside,
Again, I slid the assembly forward, with a little more "umpf" and that's when I noticed the recoil spring and guide rod had "fallen" off it's seat on the bottom of the barrel block, and was hung up. I snuck a thin screwdriver between the spring and pushed it down- the slide then moved forward off the pistol and
I am still using the original recoil spring/guide rod assembly; it's still tight; and doesn't protrude at the muzzle. Just wonder if this is a problem with newer SR9c's or just a fluke with yours. Regardless, why didn't you address the issue directly with Ruger? Their pistols are lifetime warranteed. I've had excellent
26 Aug 2014 Another thing to remember is the money factor. Lets say Ruger makes 100,000 of the SR9 series pistol (just using round numbers). The polymer/plastic rod costs .10 to make and the metal one makes .50 to make. This becomes a financial decision due to profit margins. polymer rod -$10,000 metal rod -$
10 Feb 2013 Hey all, So I have a new Ruger SR9 and seriously love this gun have a feeling this one will stay with me forever. I'm looking at aftermarket The most common spring problem in 'high mileage' firearms is 'flat spotting' of the coils where they come in contact with a guide rod or tube. This is really common
26 Jan 2015 Well, guys, I'm a member at rugerforum.com and this is the first time I've heard of any problems using a SS guide rod with the 9e that's no different than my SR9 as far as frame and slide or recoil spring guide. I've had my SR9 for close to 2 years and it's rarely seen anything but +P type handloads with 124 gr
I expected this part to be sub par due to the plastic rod. In other guns I had experienced difficulty with such a thing. However, I have over a thousand rounds through my SR9 and no misfeeds, no glitches, not one problem. All ammo has performed well and I am pleased with the guide rod assembly. Yep, metal is cool, but this
These are our new Galloway Precision design BOMB PROOF thick head guide rods for Ruger SR9c/40c, we have tripled the head thickness to prevent the scaring and rare bending on the locking lug side seen on some of the 40 S/W guns, but these will work on the.
