7 Mar 2010 I am having a problem trying to make a presentation in Latex, which will be much faster and easier than OO or PowerPoint if I can get it to work. I am compiling to dvi, converting that to ps (dvips) then converting that to pdf (ps2pdf) but ps2pdf insists on using a letter paper size so my slides are getting cut off
7 Sep 2007 Ghostscript's ps2pdf utility converts Postscript format files into Adobe PDF. One drawback with this utility is that, by default, it always outputs in Ghostscript's default page size, regardless of the postscript document's page layout. This is probably sensible if the document is destined for printing, but at the
I'm trying to scan some documents so I can throw away my paper copies. I've sucessfully scanned the documents to PostScript format, and the files have a bounding box. If I open the files in evince, the page size is correct - it shows just the scanned image. However, when I run ps2pdf to convert it to pdf
7 Mar 2006 The bug reporter said that the PS file was > > for A4 paper size, but was converted to Letter paper size (but this > > is strange since ps2pdf seems to run fine here).
ps2pdf: preserve page size. it seems that the output page size is A4: the vector image is too large and become cut away, so about one inch is lost. Is there any option or any way to convert the PS file to a PDF preserving the original paper size?
For images larger than this size, ps2pdf will create an XObject instead of embedding the image into the context stream. The default value is 4000 . Note that . Note that Adobe Distiller for Windows uses the default locale's code page for this translation, so it's result may differ from Ghostscript. Adobe Acrobat appears to use
2 Mar 2012 PostScript assumes, by default, that the image will be placed on a letter-sized page. The BoundingBox parameter tells PostScript to crop the image to the given rectangle. In the example, the rectangle has a lower left corner at (0, 0) and an upper right corner at (534, 72). The coordinates are given in points.
13 Mar 2017 ps2pdf is the wrapper to ghostscript (ps2pdf is owned by ghostscript package); with -sPAPERSIZE=something you define the paper size. Wondering about valid PAPERSIZE values? See here; -dOptimize=true let's the created PDF be optimised for loading; -dEmbedAllFonts=true makes the fonts look always
28 Jun 2011 @rty: Try to use dvips to convert DVI -> PostScript, and then ps2pdf to convert PostScript -> PDF. Then you can specify the appropriate paper size on the dvips command line. For example, to get the A4 paper size, first run dvips -t a4 foo.dvi and then ps2pdf foo.ps foo.pdf . For letter paper size, run dvips -t
2 Aug 2008 special printer to find one that adds margins of the same size all around the page. This step will generate a PS file with larger margins than the original PDF file had, even though this is not correctly shown in the preview of Adobe Reader 8.1.1. Convert the file to a PDF file by using ps2pdf. Repeat from step
