2 Oct 2014 Opening the high side valve when the a/c compressor is running will damage the compressor. Watch the gauges, adding refrigerant only until the vehicle manufacturer's specifications have been reached. To stop adding refrigerant, close the manifold low-side valve. Turn the valve on the canister off.
