This Practice Note outlines domestic requirements for companies to report on environmental impacts under the Companies Act 2006, including the directors' report, narrative reporting, mandatory greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting by quoted companies, the strategic report and the UK Corporate Governance (UKCG) Code.

The Companies Act 2006 (Strategic Report and Directors' Reports) Regulations 2013 requires quoted companies to report on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for which they are responsible. Companies will be required to report on the impact of the company on the environment within a new section - the strategic report.
