Movie Review: "John Wick" (2014)
Premium stunt coordinators Chad Stahelski and David Leitch turn directors for simplistic revengeful story of an extraordinary "Army of One" plot as leading actor Keanu Reeves takes on the entire Russian Mob of New York under heavy gun-fire sequences in stellar choreography by the major stunt work practicing and approving key production personnel collaborators.
Quite moments also convince me here as supporting actors as Ian McShane as the back-stage, strings-pulling character of Winston and Michael Nyqvis (1960-2017) as Russian Head-Mobster and Adrianne Palicki as confronting nemesis assassin in a strong hotel room scene as "John Wick" has relentless continuity, formidably carried by actor Keanu Reeves in best form.

John Wick is a great movie with great action. Sadly the lack of context and lack of soundtrack in the beginning makes it a little bit boring and doesn't give the viewer the feeling it intents to. And the ending felt a little bit rushed. John's revenge on Viggo and his son wasn't "Epic", something that a lot of people expected. But from every other aspect the movie was great and since it was the 1st chapter these things are forgivable.
Reeves animates the action and the filmmakers surround him with wonderful co-stars; the quietly menacing McShane, the chop shop operator (John Leguizamo), the dapper “cleaner" (David Patrick Kelly of “The Warriors") and the spitting, hissing Nyqvist.
The gold coins are currency among the Assassins. It's not made clear how exactly one earns them or why they don't just use real money. But it can be speculated that you earn a certain amount of coins for certain missions. These coins can be exchanged for services within the assassin industry, such as removing bodies and cleaning up any forensic evidence, purchasing weapons and armor, information, and so on. It can also be assumed they use this form of "in-house" currency to avoid any real money being marked or traced to anyone in the organization. Having a private form of currency also makes it more secure against forgery or anyone outside the organization using it themselves. The characters' discussions about John Wick's history suggest he is the most feared assassin in the criminal underworld, which suggests that few assassins would have the courage to try to take him down. There are some assassins, like Harry, who demonstrate too much admiration and respect for John Wick to want to kill him. Other assassins may have found the $2 million bounty too low for someone like John Wick. Others, like Perkins, while really talented, may also be reckless or arrogant or willing to break the rules (like trying to take John down in the hotel). a5c7b9f00b
