15 Mar 2005 I need assistance in removing original Sargent doorknobs for interior doors. I'm replacing the doors and would prefer to keep the original hardware. I believe these are series 6 type doorknobs. If anyone has any idea on how to do this without damaging the hardware, please let me know. I can be reached at

Has anybody tried un-installing a sargent door knob (probably 15 years old). I can't get the model number. I have been able to unscrew the plates but.
