The story begins with a young boy named Gon Freecss, who one day discovers that the father whom he thought was dead, is in fact alive and well. He learns that his father, Ging, is a legendary "Hunter", an individual who has proven themselves an elite member of humanity. Despite the fact that Ging left his son with his relatives in order to pursue his own dreams, Gon becomes determined to follow in his father's footsteps, pass the rigorous "Hunter Examination", and eventually find his father to become a Hunter in his own right and wishing to see his father one day.
Gon Freecss aspires to become a Hunter, an exceptional being capable of greatness. With his friends and his potential, he seeks for his father who left him when he was younger.
MODERATE SPOILERS HXH starts out, you know that typical shonen lighthearted show with our typical protagonist which has a typical and logical goal, to find his dad,from the first couple of episodes(2 filler/recap eps) some who only watched the first arc/hunter exam would give it a 7/8-10 but then it will come to the heavens arena arc where A lot was explained so you should listen well to Wing-San(sensei) and this arc will HYPE YOU UP for the next arc, which is the YORKNEW city or the phantom troupe arc which is one of the best arcs in anime of all time, It temporarily switches over to Kurapika's story when he was training and searching for the Kurta's eyes basically Gon and Kurapika are this arcs protags then we meet the Phantom troupe... BEST ANTAGONISTS, this arc, I was speechless, a lot of battles all forming the ending, which leads to a refreshing arc, the greed island arc(a.k.a the log horizon type,I don't want to put sao in this so yeah)this arc we got a lot of characters, nothing much to say but finally the show's best and longest arc, CHIMERA ANT ARC, I don't want to say anything that might change your perspective so I'll just say be ready for MAJOR goosebumps, and the last arc, this arc is just repairing the characters damages during the past arc but we'll meet the 12 zodiacs and ging, gon's father this arc will wrap things up and will make you miss the show.
MUSIC:the op is good but they don't change it, they just change the lyrics a little and that's the new op,but the endings are beastly

I want to share a lot about Hunter x Hunter i want to go on and on but i am not a professional reviewer or writer but i will try my best.
I agree with others who reviewed Hunter X Hunter , that it has a childish like beginning . When i start watching it i did not plan to watch it further because of the above reason but i give Hunter X Hunter a chance and watched few episode and i was amazed by the story and the characters it got me hooked really.
I am a anime lover and watched almost every famous title out there for example: One piece, Naruto, Bleach and much more. The story of Hunter X Hunter is about a twelve year old boy named Gon Freecss who has been told that his parent were killed in car accident but in reality they are alive and later he found out about his father by his father's old acquaintance that his father is alive and he is famous hunter. The show has many incredible fight sequence, The characters in the anime are super, since they all have their own ability and unique appearance. You will sit at the edge of your seat when the fights commence, and as the episodes progress our heroes face new difficulties, while still keeping the crazy humor,
The genre itself is a ACTION,THRILLER & this has everything someone who enjoys anime series could ever ask for. I recommend this series to everyone and it doesn't matter what genres you like more, just trust me and give this series a go but stick with it cause it's kinda slow at the beginning. Overall:10/10
Meaning of Hunter in series as below The Hunters Association is responsible for the testing and licensing of "Hunters" a person that has proved themselves through rigorous examination to be an elite member of humanity. With the passing of the examination, a Hunter is rewarded with a license to go almost anywhere in the world or do almost anything. Typically, Hunters devote themselves to tracking down priceless items, mystical places, and the unseen wonders of the world.
Both series are anime based on the Japanese manga "Hunter x Hunter".
The original series that aired in 1999 was produced by Nippon Animation, and while it did follow the manga for the most part, it also deviated in many ways. Parts of the original story were altered, as well as "filler" episodes, which are unique to the anime and not found anywhere in the manga. Unfortunately, the writing of the manga went on hiatus during the production of this series, and as a result, the 1999 series could not complete the Hunter x Hunter story.
The 2011 series is produced by Madhouse Inc., and promises to follow the manga very closely. The manga has sinced resumed from hiatus, which should allow the 2011 series to animate episodes far beyond the 1999 series as well as the other Hunter x Hunter OVAs (Original Video Animations). a5c7b9f00b
