The car has the original engine but I did have the 5 speed manual tran replaced at 350,000. If you want to avoid any guess work, you can simply go with Honda's "Genuine Honda Manual Transmission Fluid," part #08798-9031. . I did some research when I had my 92 civic hatch with turbo d16z6.
16 May 2006 Similar to engine oil, there are different grades of fluids for different types of transmissions. Manual transmissions and automatic transmissions use completely different grades. The safest bet is to contact the dealership and ask what type of transmission fluid you should use in your particular transmission.

So my tranny is acting up a bit. It grinds 3rd gear but only at high RPM. When I drive normal and shift it is totally fine. I have heard other honda guys changing to a synchro mesh type tranny fluid and it goes away. What fluid do you recommend? I am going to give it a try. I also heard about REdline MT-90.
