Almost two years after a virus wiped out most of the human race, Phil Miller only wishes for some company, but soon gets more than he bargained for when that company shows up in the form of other survivors.
This is the story about the life and adventures of the last man on Earth. Phil Miller was once just an average guy who loved his family and hated his job at the bank - now he's humanity's last hope. Will he ever find another person alive on the planet? Would hoping that she is a female be asking too much?
As a general thought, I'm really into being the last soul on earth. I think everybody has a few ideas of their own what they would do do society's remains: Bowling in the Streets, parking wherever you want, shoplifting, watching TV in a big house thats not yours, spilling stuff an original Michael Jordan-jersey while cleaning your fingers on histories greatest documents and so on. And to be fair- all that good stuff is given to you in the first episode.
Unfortunately after all those fine set pieces the characters kick in: Cool Kristen Schaal does the best she can to make her dull disposition work but the main protagonist is simple unbearable. There is funny-weird and there is awkward-weird. And our last man on earth is none of that. He is just unfunny and overall uncomfortable to watch. An unlikable guy!
I think they were aiming for a Bender Rodriguez-Doug Heffernan-mixture-kinda guy but he lacks the charm, the charisma, the ideas that always backfire and the timing of those two.
Its cringe worthy! - I really like the concept, tho.
Please just relax!! Everybody is hoping that this show is a kind of
work of art !! No it's not, this show is perfect for what he wishes to
convey ! It is perfect for a late stressful day ... A comedy to make
you relax ... perfect ...
