Is there a way to be able to open multiple pdf documents and edit (using Typewriter tool, for example), keeping each document's Typewriter toolbar active. The way it behaves is that the last document opened retains the active Typewriter toolbar. Documents 1 - 4, as an example, has the toolbar grayed out.

Just go to the upper menu and click "Window">"New Window". Easy. Then you'll have two instances of one document opened in separate windows.

However in Foxit Reader version 7.2.2: go to Edit->Preferences->Documents->Allow Multiple Instances. This will open single file in multiple windows not in multiple tabs. Then arrange windows vertically or horizontally to view two files simultaneously. However, I have not found the split window command

20 Nov 2017 Move to click on "View" tab and then "Tile" button to choose "Horizontally" or "Vertically" to adjust Multi-Tiled screen and your windows will be displayed accordingly. Alternatively, you can open multiple PDF files first. And then you can just drag one of the windows to adjust into two windows.
