The aim of the different yoga processes or schools is to ultimately help the individual achieve harmony. The different systems of yoga have techniques and practices ranging from physical posture (asanas), to the deepest stages of meditation, all aimed toward helping a person achieve optimum physical, mental and spiritual well-being. A healthy body is essential to enjoy life to the fullest and regular practice can provide a great deal of health. Yoga is not those forms of vigorous exercise. Rather, it is a form of systematic and rhythmic movements that have to be done one after another. Breathing patterns is important in the asanas. Yoga is done to obtain peace and it is done peacefully. A holistic approach to exercise and combination of mantras and meditations during yoga produces several changes in our thoughts and mentality. It makes us free from addiction, enhances our memory power, keeps our mind cool and overall makes us a lot of energetic, effective and builds self-control in us
The Bhagavad Gita said:" It’s not that you are just going into a corner, sitting with the spine erect and so doing some japa or some breathing and that is yoga. Once you start doing something, do only that—one hundred percent that. Because ‘yogaha karamus kaushalam’ –that means perfection in your every action is yoga. As per Swami Satchidananda say," when you do something, do it with one hundred percent of the mind. Don’t do it half way. Whatever you do, do it with full concentration. That is yoga."
