As shark-infested storms grow stronger and more complex, the world braces for the inevitable - a global sharknado. This year, the mission gets personal for chainsaw-wielding leader Fin Shepard and his bionic wife, April, when their young son gets trapped in a sharknado and is transported all over the world.
After a fearfully brief period of peace, things are getting really serious, as a fact-finding expedition led by Sharknado Sister Nova about the origins of the devastating phenomenon, accidentally triggers a wave of ferocious and bigger-than-ever Sharknados, with the prehistoric Stonehenge as the epicentre. As a result, while the annihilating Sharknado batters down the British capital, Fin's young son, Gil, gets sucked into the heart of a brutal cyclone, with minimal chances of survival. Inevitably, Fin Shepard, an international hero and the only man in the world qualified for the job, along with his intrepid bionic spouse April must track down the Sharknado that rapidly transforms into the unimaginable: a global abnormality that wreaks havoc across its way. Now, Fin and April are against the world, because, this time, it is personal.
I absolutely love these movies. I've said it before and I'll gladly say it again; the Sharknado series keeps getting better and better and have now become the Superbowl of the Syfy channel. This is the greatest, silliest, cheesiest, and most fun movie you'll see this year. No Hollywood movie can do it like Sharknado can. The ending was absolutely fantastic! They added an element I hoped they'd do for The 4th Awakens, but they put it here and it was great. It'll leave every Sharknado fan begging and pleading for more. Prepare for major spoilers!!
There were so many great cameos like Charo as the Queen of England, Fabio as The Pope, Tony Hawk, Bret Michaels, Olivia Newton-John, Chris Kattan, and many others. There were also some great references to Indiana Jones, Halloween 3: Season of the Witch, Godzilla, Donald Trump, Hindenburg, Geraldo Rivera's infamous vault broadcast, Pokemon Go, and a sweet Back to the Future nod!
Fin Shepard is called in to help Nova retrieve an ancient artifact deep underneath Stonehenge that is connected to the Sharknadoes. Once it's triggered, a bigger and scarier Sharknado starts up, creating a vortex and sucks up Fin and April's son, Gil that takes him all over the world such as Australia, Tokyo, England, Rome, and Bulgaria. Fin and April must fight off sharks and try to enter the Sharknado vortex to save their son.
I couldn't have asked for a better sequel. They top it every year, making them crazier and weirder and lots of random celebrity cameo deaths. If you love awesome cheesy B-movies that deserve to win Best Picture, you'll love SHARKNADO 5: GLOBAL SWARMING!!!
This movie continues further into be so horrible, ridiculous, and stupid that is entertaining, enjoyable, creative, and glorious. Not the best, but great. Sharknado was originally a cheesy shark movie with a tornado, but this franchise has gone berserk. All hell breaks lose in this movie, but I love how this ends and cant wait for Sharknado 6, this movie honestly seems like a set up for sharknado the final chapter or something. This movie was hilarious and great with all it's bad movie elements, but it is obvious they acknowledge that and go for it. I still like the story somewhat and the characters even though it is mostly ridiculous.
