7 Dec 2016 Race the engine gently with the car in Neutral and listen carefully for any signs of the offensive noise that are associated with the engine speed. With a few exceptions, a noise that occurs when the car is shifted into gear is most likely associated with the transmission. Step 2: Manual or automatic.
kazienova created the topic: Honda Civic manual transmission whine. My 1994 Honda Civic LX make whiney noises in 1st and 2nd gear. Shifting is smooth and the gears never grind. I changed the fluid with Honda MTF less than 1k miles ago and the noise is still there. Is there anyway to fix this or does the transmission
I've had three cars of my own, all MTs, and all of them have had a sort of quiet whine noise from the MT, especially when engine braking at low engine speeds (2500 RPM and lower) in second gear for example. Seems like my Civic didn't have it when brand new but I can hear it a bit now. I've also noticed it
30 Jan 2016 I have a 2014 Ford Fiesta Titanium with the 5-speed manual transmission. Recently I noted in previous posts that I was developing a gear whine in the transmission. Most noticeably in 5th gear. More recently I have a definite whirling sound in the clutch/transmission. It's been cold and definitely quite

Manual transmission are not silent, but it is not a whining sound, still it does change its pitch according to your car speed. You could hear it more pronounced on 1st gear and reverse. Some new cars do have whining sound in transmission and drive-shaft. I was amazed to hear (not loud) whining on new BMW 7-Series made

Hi Ive got a 2000 subaru legacy gt limited with 247,000 miles on it. Just today I heard a very loud whining noise coming from the transmission when traveling between 20-50 mph. The noise goes away when I press in the clutch and is most noticeable in second, third, and fourth gear. It sound A LOT like a
If you have a manual transmission, then you're responsible for changing the gears as your speed (and engine RPMs) increases. For instance, you'll press the clutch pedal and shift into first gear, then into second gear, then third, and so on in order to accelerate. Some of these can create a whining noise when in gear.
