An ex-hitman comes out of retirement to track down the gangsters that killed his dog and took everything from him.
After his role as Director and Actor in Man of Taichi and Actor in 47 Ronin which both are pretty bad Keanu Reeves are back to his greatest zone which is "Action Movie" i can still remember picture of him as Neo in the matrix.
The thing that makes John Wick stand-out from others Action movie is , it know itself really well it know that this movie will be an Action shoot everything and Keanu Reeves as a bad-ass characters , so it don't try to be other things like insert too much drama story and this make John Wick fun and entertaining to watch because it give the audience what they really want.
Keanu Reeves himself is also really bad-ass in this movie , i think this role is perfect for him i can't think any others actor to play this role other than him , it's like this script and this role just wrote for him and him only , so i have to say after watched this movie Keanu Reeves is back guys he's official back to bad-ass now !!.
Also another actor that i personally really like in this movie is Michael Nyqvist as a main villain after i saw him in Abduction and Mission Impossible : Ghost Protocol i have to say that this is by far his best performance as a main villain , he added so much to the characters making it interesting and fun to watch.
There's also a lot of supporting cast and some are really cool like Adrianne Palicki , Williem Dafoe or even Ian Mcshane which is really cool and added so much more worth of your ticket price.
Overall John Wick is a really fun action movie , it doesn't bring a great script or great story telling but it give us just what we want from action movie and don't try to be other things things , if you're a fan of action movie or Keanu Reeves just go and watch it you will not be disappointed .
I hate movies which include dogs, because somewhere along the line that dog is going to get killed.
I guess I'm a sensitive man, but at the beginning of this movie when our hero receives a present of a little spaniel dog from his wife who had died of cancer, this film took on heart, but it was all short lived, because the dog got killed by thugs who beat up our hero John Wick and then you hear the dog yelp and then you see the dog from it's back, lying dead by John Wick when he wakes up from his beating.
John Wick the character has heart, he cries at his wife's grave side, I lost my own wife to cancer in September last year 2014, so I could empathize with the character.
All in all this was a very good movie with excellently rehearsed fight scenes, very cleverly directed. But getting passed the doggy being killed, kind of spoiled it for me.
There are enough pleasures going on in John Wick to elevate it above just another dumb action movie.
The gold coins are currency among the Assassins. It's not made clear how exactly one earns them or why they don't just use real money. But it can be speculated that you earn a certain amount of coins for certain missions. These coins can be exchanged for services within the assassin industry, such as removing bodies and cleaning up any forensic evidence, purchasing weapons and armor, information, and so on. It can also be assumed they use this form of "in-house" currency to avoid any real money being marked or traced to anyone in the organization. Having a private form of currency also makes it more secure against forgery or anyone outside the organization using it themselves. The characters' discussions about John Wick's history suggest he is the most feared assassin in the criminal underworld, which suggests that few assassins would have the courage to try to take him down. There are some assassins, like Harry, who demonstrate too much admiration and respect for John Wick to want to kill him. Other assassins may have found the $2 million bounty too low for someone like John Wick. Others, like Perkins, while really talented, may also be reckless or arrogant or willing to break the rules (like trying to take John down in the hotel). a5c7b9f00b
