The life of a 12-year-old boy who happens to be a blue cat as he lives with his family and other strange creatures.
What if your teacher was 300,000 years old? Or what if your best friend was a balloon? Or what if you were a blue cat? Enter the life of Gumball Watterson, a 12 year old blue cat, and his adopted goldfish brother, 10 year old Darwin, and their amazing town of Elmore, where the strangest things happen every day. Combining action, adventure, and comedy, TAWOG is basically the misadventures of two best friends.
I'm a 19-year-old university student and when I first saw "The Amazing World of Gumball" I immediately felt in love with it. The characters have simple personality, but they're unique, random and funny. The animation is really original with 2D characters, 3D characters and stop motion. The stories are the best things about that show: each story has a simple set up which is executed in a hilarious way with non-stop gags coming from the characters: I really recommend watching "The dress", "The DVD", "The Banana", "The Refund" and my personal favorite "The goons". Season 1 is really original and the humor is top-notch, while there're some gross out gags here and there, I don't really mind them, because most episodes are really unpredictable. Season 2 is pretty good, some episodes are really amazing (The Banana, The Remote, The Job, The Flakers), while others lack originality (Christmas and Halloween specials). Overall, I think this is a really good, unique and surreal show and I highly recommend it, it's not just for kids like somebody says, it's for everyone!
I gave this show a chance because I am a fan of the other "quirky" shows that cartoon network has. Although this show has interesting animation, I simply hate it. It is one of the worst shows other than MAD on cartoon network, it is simply not enjoyable. The plots are boring, the characters are boring, and its just depressing. Seeing as it fails to stack up to the likes of "regular show" "the misadventures of flapjack" and "adventure time". The show is trying to be like the aforementioned shows but it is just awful. I would not suggest watching this show to anyone other than children. Most of the "quriky" shows are actually enjoyable for people across all walks of life. This show is a rip off of Adventure time, flap jack, Billy and Mandy, regular show, and anything else that is similar.
Darwin was the Wattersons' pet goldfish, until he grew arms and legs and joined their family. He is Gumball's adopted brother and best friend. Penny is a peanut with antlers. It has not been revealed what she looks like under her shell, but series creator Ben Bocquelet has said he is contemplating a change to her appearance. a5c7b9f00b
