We decided to lead students to discover definitions, properties and applications of some fundamental geometric transformation. To this end, on the strength of other previous experiences, The tutors prepared some notes that were handed out to the teachers. Students are guided to prove (or disprove) the conjecture.
In this lesson, students will use the converse of the Pythagorean Theorem to classify triangles by sides. A brief review of the Triangle Inequality is also included. An example is included using coordinate geometry. Included: • Warm-Up • Guided Notes • Homework • Answer Keys You may also be. Subjects: Math, Geometry.
Guided Notes - Rigid Motions Congruence & Rigid Motions - Notes Name Big Idea: Using geometric constructions and measurement to learn the properties of rigid motion via translation. The warm-up prompt for this lesson asks students to review the properties of reflections, which we studied in the last lesson.
Objective: SWBAT draw the image of a polygon that results from a specified reflection, rotation, or translation. Students will understand the properties of rigid motions in terms of angles, circles, segments, and perpendicular and parallel lines.

2 - 1. Transformations and Illusions. 1. Students will have the opportunity to explore geometric transformations in a piece of M.C. Lead students through compiling Cornell Notes on the vocabulary for the lesson including transformation, reflection students' opportunity to explore transformations during the guided practice.
Students will practice graphing transformations, including reflections, translations, rotations, and dilations. There are 20 problems total, separated into two columns. I recommend doing this a partner activity where one partner does column 1 and the other does column 2.Students graph the pre-image and its image under a
