An action-packed thriller starring Charles Bronson as Jack Murphy, a cop who is running to stay alive long enough to even the score with his wife's killer.
Charles Bronson plays Jack Murphy a veteran police detective who is framed for the murder of his ex-wife. Although taken into custody, Murphy escapes from the police station handcuffed to a foul-mouthed car thief. Pursued by the police, Murphy must find the real killer before it is too late.
This is an awesome 80's action film, with 2 extremely likable leads, and some hilarious profanity from Kathleen Wilhoite!. it's extremely entertaining, and while it is formulaic,Bronson and Wilhoite make it a lot better then all the rest, plus there is lots of exciting action to keep one entertained!. The finale is awesome, and i really found the ending hilarious, plus Charles Bronson and Kathleen Wilhoite had fantastic chemistry together!. This was predictable, however it just had a certain charm to it, and as i said i am a sucker for Action Movies!. This is classic 80's action people, i loved it, and if you put your brain and check you should too. This is an awesome 80's action film with 2 extremely likable leads, and some hilarious profanity from Kathleen Wilhoite!, and i say it's a must see!. The Direction is great.J. Lee Thompson does a great job here, with great camera work, good angles and keeping the film at a very fast pace!. There is a bit of blood. We get arrows in the neck, quite a few bloody gunshot wounds, corpses, and a gunshot wound to the head. The Acting is awesome!. Charles Bronson is AMAZING as he always was, and is amazing here, he is extremely likable, funny had some great lines, had fantastic chemistry with Kathleen Wilhoite, kicked that ass and was tons of fun to watch! (Bronson Ruled!). Kathleen Wilhoite is hilarious here,her profanity was hilarious, she was also very likable, had fantastic chemistry with Bronson, was cute, and just did a fantastic job overall!. Carrie Snodgress is great as the psycho killer, she was creepy and unpredictable!. Robert F. Lyons did what he had to do well. Rest of the cast are fine. Overall a must see!. **** out of 5
Another Charles Bronson Film from the 80's produced by Golan/Globus' Cannon Group - A Studio notorious throughout the 80s for making pretty trashy Films on a low budget starring Chuck Norris, Bronson or bigger stars out of work, so my expectations were very low....
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, I know it's not going to win any awards but for what is, it's pretty good.
Bronson plays Det. Jack Murphy a Middle aged cop with relationship and drink problems whose stripper Ex-Wife and his various Friends are being bumped off by someone - The Police force thinks it's him and so he's arrested and stuck in jail with a young carjacker Arabella Mcgee (Kathleen Wilhoite) who tried to steal his car earlier on - So to clear his name and find out whose killing his buddies and why - he breaks out of Prison still handcuffed to the initially reluctant Arabella.
The Script is neither here nor there in 'Cannon Films' although the Insults Aimed at Murphy from Arabella throughout border on ridiculous and are probably the oddest ever filmed.
There's plenty of action and is directed well from the Director of 'Cape Fear' & 'Guns of Navarone' J.Lee Thompson, who made quite a few films with Bronson.
All in All not great, but far better than you would expect.
