8051/8052 Instruction: RLC - 8052.com. Description: Shifts the bits of the Accumulator to the left. The left-most bit (bit 7) of the Accumulator is loaded into the Carry Flag, and the original Carry Flag is loaded into bit 0 of the Accumulator. This function can be used to quickly multiply a byte by 2.
SECTION 6.4: ROTATE INSTRUCTION AND DATA SERIALIZATION In many applications there is a need to perform a bitwise rotation of an operand. In the 8051 the rotation instructions RL, RR, RLC, and RRC are designed specifically for that purpose. They []

The 8051 has a number of instructions, known as the rotate instructions, that rotate the bits around the accumulator. RR A. This instruction is rotate right the accumulator. RLC A. Rotate left through the carry. Each bit is shifted one location to the left, with bit 7 going into the carry bit in the PSW, while the carry goes into bit 0.
RLC. The RLC instruction rotates the eight bits in the accumulator and the one bit in the carry flag left one bit position. Bit 7 of the accumulator is rotated into the carry flag while the original value of the carry flag is rotated into bit 0 of the accumulator.
8086 interrupts. interrupts in 8086. address bus and data bus. mov instruction. xchg instruction. nop instruction. hlt instruction. pchl instruction. rst instruction. rc instruction. Eg: - RLC. 2. RRC: - Each binary bit of the accumulator is rotated right by one position. Bit D0 is placed in the position of D7 as well as in the Carry flag.
Does 8085 RLC instruction different from 8051 RLC function? It seems to me that 8085 RLC is similar to ~ 8051 RL function and 8085 RAL instruction is
RLC - Rotate Accumulator Left Through Carry; RR - Rotate Accumulator Right; RRC - Rotate Accumulator Right Through Carry; SETB - Set Bit; SJMP - Short Jump; SUBB - Subtract From Accumulator With Borrow; SWAP - Swap Accumulator Nibbles; XCH - Exchange Bytes; XCHD - Exchange Digits; XRL - Bitwise Exclusive
