9 Nov 2010 You can try it. You wont know until you try using the oven whether the scotch tape is invisible to microwaves. If it starts arcing or melts then may cause more damage. It would probably be better to use the oven without the waveguide cover until your replacement arrives. At least it wont cause further damage
