remove this line: import org.apache.pdfbox.*;. because that package does indeed not exist. The other ones (with deeper levels) are OK.
To add the pdfbox, fontbox, xmpbox and commons-logging jars to your application, the easiest thing is to declare the Maven dependency shown below. This gives you the main pdfbox library directly and the other required jars as transitive dependencies. <dependency>

Core Components. These components are needed during runtime, development and testing dependent on the details below. The three PDFBox components are named pdfbox , fontbox and jempbox . The Maven groupId of all PDFBox components is org.apache.pdfbox.
Build. You need Java 7 (or higher) and Maven 3 maven.apache.org/ to build PDFBox. The recommended build command is: mvn clean install. The default build will compile the Java sources and package the binary classes into jar packages. See the Maven documentation for all the other available build options.

The Apache XmpBox library is an open source Java tool that implements Adobe's XMP(TM) specification. It can be used to parse, validate and create xmp contents. It is mainly used by subproject preflight of Apache PDFBox. XmpBox is a subproject of Apache PDFBox. Last Release on Mar 20, 2018
