I have seen a similar issue in the past and the problem was due to the fact that some fields and or objects were placed in part or completely outside of the margins of the report.

In a 5.5 x 8.5 doc. I set margins l. and r. of .5. When I try to print or save as .pdf text is cut off on the left and right. When I go into Format Menu and select Document, I see the margins as .5.
