Most quad bikes use a "one down, four up" transmission layout. To put the bike in neutral, pull in the clutch lever with your left hand, push the shifter down four times with your left foot, then up slightly until the green neutral light comes on. 18 May 2017 To start, place the ATV in neutral and pull in the clutch lever. Shift down by pressing the foot lever down 1 click to activate 1st gear.
