With InDesign CS5, Adobe has advanced its capabilities to include non-print publishing and the use of video and other interactive media that can be published on the Web or played when the document is exported to PDF or SWF. This improved functionality can be found in the Media panel in the interface.
17 Mar 2017 Add a movie or a sound file. Choose File > Place, and then double-click the movie or sound file. Click where you want the movie to appear. Use the Media panel (choose Window > Interactive > Media) to preview a media file and to change settings. Export the document to Adobe PDF or SWF format.

Hi, I am creating an advert that will be in the format of a pdf, I have embedded video into the pdf and exported as an interactive pdf. Or does indesign convert videos to flash on export? An arguably better approach would be to provide a link to the video in the PDF file that would play via a web browser.
