Los Angeles and other cities around the world are being bombarded by meteors that seem to be slowing down once they hit the earth's atmosphere. The earth is suddenly being invaded by space aliens that have landed off the shore of LA, and who begin killing everybody along the beach. The military is ordered into action. Marine Staff Sergeant Nantz (Aaron Eckhart), who was about to retire, is reassigned to a new platoon. The platoon, flown by chopper to the forward operating base at Santa Monica Airport, is being led by a new 2nd Lt. Martinez (Ramon Rodriguez). They are sent on a mission to rescue some civilians who are trapped at the police station within alien territory. They only have 3 hours to complete their mission and get out before the Air Force bombs that zone.
After a meteor shower around the world, the governments learn that it is actually an alien invasion and organize counter-attacks. In Los Angeles, the Marine Sergeant Michael Nantz is ready to retire after a great trauma in the past when he lost all the men under his command in a mission. However, his platoon is assigned to bring the civilians that are sheltered in the Police Department, in an area dominated by the aliens, back to forward operating base (F.O.B.) before the bombs drop on the city. Sgt. Nantz assists 2nd Lieutenant William Martinez and they have to accomplish their mission within three hours. The marines meet few civilians and survivors from other commandos and when they are ready to fly to the base, the helicopter with the wounded marines is shot down and crashes. Now the marines need to reach the base with the civilians through the destroyed streets and highways using a bus. Along their journey, the marines learn how to kill the invaders but only a few of them survive. When the mission is accomplished, Sgt. Nantz and the survivors decide to destroy the alien communication center and consequently their airborne force.

'Michelle Rodriguez' AND 'Aaron Eckhart' ACTED STRONGLY.
OVERALL A STRONG MOVIE WITH WEAK CASTING.MUST WATCH MOVIE FOR 'Sci-Fi' LOVERS. talent with camera was little bit sure.very much moving screen while watching the movie. but overall enjoyed it.I hope the movie will do a good business in India during march because there is no other noticeable Hindi bollywood movie is going to release this month.
I think the school students should watch this great movie to improve their imagination power. People over 35 will not like this movie that much as Indian audiences are used to watch the movies which involves no. of love stories.
Director Jonathan Liebesman and writer Christopher Bertolini created a film, 'Battle: Los Angeles' that could have been brilliant, but instead opted to make a typical war flick with a weak storyline, no character development, and no heart. 'Battle: Los Angeles' centers around a Marines Staff Sargent Michael Nantz, Aaron Eckhart, who decides to retire after having four of his troops die in a mission. While his retirement is processing, aliens invade the city of Los Angeles and the marines force Staff Sgt. Nantz into battle with a Lieutenant and platoon of men. Can Staff Sgt. Nantz fight in combat against alien intruders and prevail or will he lose an epic fight in battle?
'Battle: Los Angeles' was a major disappointment for me. The film just lacked so many qualities. The dialogue was so bad, it was laughable. The acting was even worse. There were a bunch of characters introduced and none of them really progressed in the story. The only character that anyone could really care for is Aaron Eckhart's and even his character I didn't care for. There was no heart in this film, I didn't care if anyone lived or died I just couldn't wait for it to end. It was one of those movies that every time the characters felt as if they were accomplishing tasks, another major obstacle comes in their way that's ten times harder and more unrealistic. I hate films like that. You have to sit there and say, 'Now, how are they going to get out of this one??' over and over and over until finally the credits role and you're miserable over the amount of time and money you wasted and how high your hopes were for a film that didn't even come close to meeting your expectations at all.
There was a ton of action right from the start, which was good. I enjoyed the fact that it didn't take hours to get to the action, especially since the plot was so weak. I also enjoyed the fact that the film was based in California. Every time I see war films, it's usually in other countries or in deserts, but I liked that the characters were hiding out in backyards and houses in the suburbs and at a police station. I really loved that.
I would only recommend this film to anyone who wants to see a lot of action. I saw this film with a few people, and if you plan on catching this flick I'd definitely recommend watching it with people that you can laugh with.
It's a film of noble sacrifice and "good deaths" but surprisingly few chuckles.
Nantz, Imlay, Lockett, Harris, Adukwu and Santos are the only survivors. a5c7b9f00b
