The KVLY-TV mast is a 2,063 ft (628.8 m) tall television-transmitting mast in Blanchard, Traill County, North Dakota, United States, used by Fargo station KVLY-TV channel 11. Completed during 1963, it was the tallest structure in the world until succeeded by the Warsaw radio mast during 1974, which collapsed in 1991,

19 Sep 2010 I was watching an episode of “World's Toughest Fixes" on NatGeo a while ago, and they did an antenna replacement on a 2000 ft tower somewhere in the midwest. They had to free-climb the entire height because they had to get a rope to the top to string a cable to hoist a gin pole system and a man-basket.

5 Jun 2013 These are called Guyed Towers, as they are supported( held in place), by Guy Wires/Cables. Guided is not a proper name for this type of Tower. Share. 15 Sep 2010 This video tied my stomach into knots. It's a helmet-cam video of a transmission tower repair technician's free-climb of a 1,768 foot tower. The climber reaches the tower's top most light beacon (these towers are so tall they need FAA standardized beacons so airplanes won't fly into them).
