26 Oct 2009 I've searched for this topic and it hasn't really come up yet. Does the rifled canons tech actually do anything? All it says on the tech description leaf is that it enables rifled canons, and in battle if you left click on the unit card and look at abilities or whatever it just says that my ships have top gallants. Hi new to Total war, I'm thinking of getting ETW and NTW so I've got the demos of both games. One surprising difference I notice between the two is artillery, my usage of them is limited to 6 lber horse and foot artillery in the Battle of Brandywine river and Battle of Ligny so please correct me if I'm wrong.
Has anyone researched/used rifled cannons? I would expect they make naval cannon fire more accurate, but the research description is a little vague how exactly the tech impacts gameplay. Has anyone seen them in action? If so, have you noticed a difference in cannon performance?
