3 Apr 2017 Hi,. Running into a problem with Firepower Mgmt Center 6.2.0 and is throwing out a question while i wait for TAC reply. I am trying to setup Firepower Mgmt Center 6.2.0 on an VMware ESXi 6.0 host, everything seems fine until i get the error sda: WRITE SAME failed. Manually zeroing and it hangs there.

According to kernelnewbies.org/Linux_3.7, the WRITE SAME SCSI command "allows the same block to be efficiently replicated throughout a block range. Only a single logical block is transferred from the host and the storage device writes the same data to all blocks described by the I/O (commit)".

It's likely related to the mass storage being VMware in both cases. Basically, it's saying that it tried to execute a SCSI command called WRITE SAME which is used to write the the same block of data over x number of consecutive disk blocks.
